Veterinary Nurse – Te Kuiti
Permanent, Part-time (24 hours per week)
Veterinary Nurse who cares just as much about people as you do about animals? Looking to be part of a team that’s doing things a little differently?
Join our Te Kuiti clinic, where we’re re-imagining what great veterinary care looks and feels like – for our patients, our pet parents, and each other.
We’re a positive, tight-knit team who genuinely care about the work we do, the people we work with, and creating an experience that stands out. If you’re curious, collaborative, and keen to be part of something special, you’ll fit right in.
This role offers a minimum of 24 hours per week (3 days) and includes participation in a shared Saturday roster across our supportive Waipā network when required.
We're passionate about reimagining veterinary care and careers. While this position is based on a minimum of 24 hours per week, for the right person we're open to exploring a broader role, including increased hours and opportunities to utilise your skills, experience, and passions more widely across the Waipā region to enhance the care, service, and experiences we deliver.

This is a role where your clinical skills matter – but so does how you connect with people. It’s an opportunity to be part of a supportive team doing meaningful work every day. You’ll help animals thrive while building strong, trusted relationships with their pet parents.
Reporting to the Lead Veterinary Nurse, and working with the support of an experienced nursing team over our 3 Waipa clinics, this role offers great variety and the chance to keep developing your skills.

- Contribute to proactive pet healthcare through nurse consultations, follow-up care, and client communication.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, stock management, and nursing protocols.
- Work collaboratively with the veterinary team to deliver exceptional care and seamless patient experiences.
Additional Opportunities & Responsibilities
- You'll play a key role in the day-to-day success of the clinic, helping create exceptional experiences for pets and pet parents.
- Support front-of-house activities, customer care, and clinic presentation when needed.
- Take ownership of clinic processes and identify opportunities to improve patient care, workflows, and pet parent engagement.
- Enjoy the variety and autonomy of a role that offers growth across clinical nursing, customer experience, and practice operations.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone who’s as passionate about animals as we are and brings:
- New Zealand working rights.
- A Diploma in Veterinary Nursing – whether you're newly qualified or bringing experience with you, we’d love to hear from you.
- Confidence in anaesthesia and patient monitoring, with a willingness to keep learning and growing in these areas.
- A warm, approachable personality that helps clients and teammates feel at ease and supported, with a genuine respect for every individual.
- Great communication skills, helping you collaborate well with your team and explain care and plan options clearly to pet parents.
- A genuine sense of compassion - you're someone who treats every patient with kindness and care.
- A team-first mindset - you enjoy being part of a collaborative, supportive team.
- Curiosity and a growth mindset - you’re open to learning and keen to keep building your skills in veterinary care.
