Are you a Mixed Animal Veterinarian with experience in sheep, beef and equine practice and a handy companion animal skill set looking for your next adventure? We are looking for an amazing generalist vet to join our busy and welcoming team in Wānaka, where every day is an opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of the animals we care for and their people. 

We're a proactive and passionate team that thrives on collaboration, growth and creating a supportive environment. This is a full-time, fixed term role (40 hours per week) to cover parental leave, plus rostered Saturday clinics (9-12) and on-call weekends shared across a rotating roster within the team. About the Role?

As a Mixed Animal Veterinarian, you'll have the responsibility of supporting our Farmfirst team delivering exceptional service to our Otago farming community and providing excellence in care to our Petfirst clients and their fur families.

What You'll Bring?

We're looking for someone who's as passionate about animals as we are and brings:

  • New Zealand Veterinary Council Registration and Annual Practicing Certificate.
  • A Bachelor of Veterinary Science with 3+ years of experience in Mixed Animal Practice. 
  • A clinical skill set including companion animal surgery fundamentals and consulting prowess with an ability and willingness to undertake sole charge as and when required. 
  • A warm, approachable personality that makes both customers and colleagues feel valued and supported. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, ensuring smooth collaboration with your team and clarity for pet parents. 
  • A strong sense of compassion and empathy, treating every patient as if they were your own. 
  • A team-first mindset thriving in a collaborative environment where everyone supports each other. 
  • Curiosity and a growth mindset, eager to embrace new skills and advancements in veterinary care. 
  • Reliability and professionalism, ensuring your work is consistent, accurate, and of the highest standard.
