Commercial Advisor – Sheep, Beef & Deer (Te Kuiti)

Commercial Advisor – Sheep, Beef & Deer (Te Kuiti)
Permanent, Full Time

We’re not your average vet clinics. We’re passionate, forward-thinking teams rewriting the rulebook on what it means to be a rural veterinary partner. And we’re on the lookout for a Commercial Advisor to join our Te Kuiti clinic.

This is a non-clinical sales role supporting our Veterinary teams to deliver client-centric solutions to Waikato sheep, beef and deer farmers. You’ll blend commercial acumen with farm systems knowledge in an animal health context – helping drive performance on farm and across the wider industry space.

If you love working with farmers to support their growth, this role is for you.

About the Role

This full-time role is based in Te Kuiti and works across the Waipa region, focusing on our Sheep, Beef and Deer farming clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain proactive relationships with farmers through a structured call cycle, becoming a trusted partner in their farming success.
  • Connect farmers with veterinary-led animal health solutions that align with clinical advice and seasonal on-farm needs.
  • Drive sales performance through effective commercial management of revenue, growth, and margin targets.
  • Collaborate with local suppliers to secure promotions, product support, and added value for your clients.
  • Act as the key communication link between farmers and veterinary teams, ensuring seamless information flow and consistent client experience.
  • Use Herbie, our in-house CRM system, to manage customer relationships, track progress, and deliver data-driven insights that support farm performance.

What Makes Us Different?

We walk the talk when it comes to doing things differently. Here’s what that means:

  • A proactive client base of legends - You’ll work with engaged, motivated farmers who value the relationship they have with their veterinary team. These are people who want to collaborate and drive performance.
  • Consulting that actually consults - We’ve built a system that champions on-farm conversations. Four times a year, as a veterinary team you’ll sit down over a cuppa with each client to talk goals, growth, and how to get there together.
  • The freedom to follow your passion - Whether your interest lies in leadership, business development, farm systems consultancy, or tech, we’re here to support your aspirations and help you carve out a pathway that lights you up.
  • Cutting-edge tech meets on-farm know-how - Work with industry-leading vets in the agri-wearables space and be part of a team that's pioneering the future of vetting through innovation.
  • Our own software, built by vets for vets - Meet Herbie, our in-house digital tool that gives you and your clients real-time insights, alerts, and streamlined animal health planning – all at your fingertips.
  • Into Agritech and data? So are we. Let’s push boundaries together. Be a part of Stockcare Lite – the in clinic StockCare solution that has been influencing NZ sheep & beef farm businesses for years.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A genuine team-first attitude – you thrive in small, close-knit teams and value collaboration just as much as individual achievement.
  • A deep connection to farming and farmers – you understand their world, speak their language, and respect their role as the backbone of our economy.
  • A commercial mindset with a proactive drive for results – you’re motivated by targets, confident in sales techniques, and passionate about delivering real value on farm.
  • A solution-focused and curious approach – you ask great questions, listen first, and tailor recommendations to each farmer’s goals and challenges.
  • Solid hands-on experience in agriculture and an understanding of farm systems, production cycles, and business models.
  • Confidence using digital tools like CRM systems to manage relationships, analyse opportunities, and support data-driven decision-making.
